Vision to Action Vermont is pleased to announce its endorsement of incumbent Democratic Representative, Sam Young for the Orleans-Caledonia 1 Vermont House district.
“Sam Young has worked diligently for the people of Orleans-Caledonia 1 throughout his 4 years in the House”, said Rep. Heidi Scheuermann (R-Stowe), co-founder of V2AVT. “Quietly working from his seat on the House Commerce and Economic Development Committee, Young has ensured that the voices of those in the most rural part of Vermont are heard, and critical investments are made in the Northeast Kingdom. In working for those critical investments, Sam clearly understands the need for such within the larger picture of the region’s, and the state’s, economic growth.”
“As an expert in the hi-tech economy and telecommunications, Sam has been the leader both on the Committee, and in the House, on these all-important issues to Vermont’s economy,” added V2AVT co-founder, Rep. Paul Ralston (D-Middlebury). “In doing so, Sam has developed a reputation for hard work, thoughtfulness, and common-sense, all of which will continue to be of critical importance as the Vermont Legislature faces significant decisions on health care reform, property taxes, education, and so many other issues.”
V2AVT encourages the voters of Orleans-Caledonia 1 to return Rep. Sam Young to the Vermont House of Representatives.

Montpelier, Vermont – February 28, 2011
On the eve of Town Meeting Day, Senator Bill Doyle is burning the midnight oil.
“There’s not a legislator I know that doesn’t want to know how the people back home feel about the issues,” he said.
That’s why for more than four decades he’s been conducting his Town Meeting Day survey. It has been used for years to predict how Vermonters will vote on hot topics affecting the state. This year questions about Vermont Yankee’s future, mandatory sentences for repeat drunk drivers, physician assisted suicide and law enforcement’s use of tasers all made the ballot.
But this year another lawmaker at the Statehouse is putting a high-tech twist on a Town Meeting Day tradition.
“The Doyle survey is the gold standard in town meeting surveys,” said Rep. Sam Young, D-Orleans/Caledonia counties.
